Temporary Closure of Smiley Monroe's India, Ireland Sites

As the global coronavirus pandemic continues to cause unprecedented disruption to economic activity, with countries going into shutdown mode to prevent the spread of the virus and save lives, yet another company has announced it is temporarily suspending production.

Smiley Monroe, the leading global producer of conveyor belts and custom rubber parts for materials processing equipment, says it has decided to temporarily close all its sites in Northern Ireland with effect from March 27, for an initial period of 21 days.

Meanwhile, the company’s manufacturing facility in Hosur, India has closed for an initial period of 21 days. Regarding Smiley Monroe’s production site in Kentucky, US, the company said they would continue to review developments in that country before deciding on any temporary closure of the site.
