Mr. Fredrik Nilsson - New CFO of Trelleborg

The Trelleborg Group announced that Fredrik Nilsson has been appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer and will assume this position during the first quarter of next year. He succeeds Ulf Berghult, who has decided to leave the Group. Mr Berghult will complete the 2020 year-end report before leaving Trelleborg for his new assignment.

Mr Nilsson (43), has most recently served as the CFO of AAK, where he has worked for almost 14 years, during seven of which he held the position of CFO. Prior to his time at AAK, Mr Nilsson was worked at Sandvik for just over six years.

Commenting on the new appointment, Peter Nilsson, President and CEO of Trelleborg, the world leader in engineered polymer solutions said, “We are pleased about the recruitment of Fredrik. His broad experience of a global finance function from relevant industries combined with a strong business focus makes Fredrik an excellent addition to Trelleborg.”

Mr Berghult has been CFO of Trelleborg since 2012. “Ulf has, with enormous commitment, successfully contributed to the Group’s development, particularly regarding the finance function, and I wish him every success in his new challenge. I have always appreciated Ulf’s competence, integrity and honesty, and I am grateful for all of his input over the years that we have worked together,” stated Peter Nilsson.

Mr Berghult said his decision to leave the Sweden-based company had not been an easy one. “I previously informed Peter and Trelleborg that my ambition, before I end my professional career, is to return to a more operational economic and financial role,” he said, “ An opportunity of this nature has now emerged and I have accepted an offer from a private equity-owned company, where I will have the opportunity to work closer to the operational business.”
